Several of these have Round Rock addresses but different school districts or no city tax, which is why we check every address.
Most of Round Rock (about 93% of the city's land) is in Round Rock ISD. Smaller parts are in Hutto ISD, Georgetown ISD, Leander ISD and Pflugerville ISD, and many neighborhoods with Round Rock mailing addresses sit outside city limits in a different district. Always confirm by address.
For 2025 the City of Round Rock rate was $0.372 per $100 and Round Rock ISD was $0.8931; Williamson County adds $0.369447 plus $0.044329 for roads. A typical home inside city limits in Round Rock ISD, with Austin Community College and Upper Brushy Creek WCID, totals about $1.80 per $100 before exemptions. The city adopted $0.423 for 2026, and Round Rock ISD has a tax rate election on November 3, 2026. Homes outside city limits usually pay a MUD instead of city tax. The city provides water, wastewater and trash; Oncor delivers electricity and residents choose a retail provider; Atmos provides gas.
I-35, SH 45, SH 130 and US 79 all run through Round Rock, and CapMetro express Route 980 runs to downtown Austin. Old Settlers Park covers 670 acres of fields, trails and sports complexes, and the city's big events include the July 4th parade and Frontier Days, the Chalk Walk and Christmas Family Night. The District, a $525 million mixed-use project on 65 acres, broke ground in 2025.
