Cross Creek is a newer Hutto neighborhood of about 490 homes, planned by Meritage Homes, platted from 2019 to 2021 and built out by 2024. It sits just south of US 79 on the east side of FM 1660, with Carl Stern Drive at its south end. It's inside Hutto city limits, zoned to Hutto ISD, and in the Cross Creek Public Improvement District, which adds a separate yearly installment to each home's tax bill.
Jorgenson Real Estate has helped clients buy and sell more than 120 homes in and around Cross Creek. The dashed line marks Cross Creek, every pin is a home our brokerage closed within about two miles, and the map updates on its own as new sales close.
Every 2025 taxing unit on Cross Creek homes adds up to about $2.16 per $100 before exemptions: Williamson County, county road, City of Hutto, Hutto ISD, ESD 3, East Williamson County Higher Education Center and Lower Brushy Creek WCID. There's no MUD. The Cross Creek PID installment comes on top of that: about $995 or $1,104 for the bill due January 31, 2025, depending on lot type, on a schedule that runs through 2053 unless the owner pays it off early. Check any address on wcad.org.
The 2018 community plan prepared for Meritage Homes called for a 3.5-acre neighborhood park and amenity center near the middle of the neighborhood, about 50 acres of open space, and a looped trail system with a 10-foot hike-and-bike trail starting near the south entrance.
US 79 runs just north and FM 1660 along the west side. Approximate drives: Hutto City Hall and the Co-Op District about 2 miles, Hutto High about 2.3 miles, Farley Middle about 2.5 miles, downtown Round Rock about 10 miles, Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Round Rock about 13 miles. SH 130 is about 2 miles west, straight-line.
