Kasey Jorgenson enlisted in the Navy at 17 and spent the next six years in the back of a helicopter. With Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron HSC-8 aboard the USS John C. Stennis, he served as a crew chief, door gunner, anti-submarine warfare specialist and rescue swimmer, logging just under 1,000 flight hours, including in combat areas, across two deployments to the Western Pacific and the Persian Gulf in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. The discipline and grit from those years still shape how he leads, especially when a deal gets hard. As one client wrote after a tough transaction, "Kasey knew what to do & handled everything amazingly."
Kasey is the Founder and Designated Broker of Jorgenson Real Estate, an independent, veteran-owned brokerage at 306 N Lampasas St in Round Rock, Texas. Kasey came to Austin in 2010 and has built his business here ever since. Personally, he has helped clients buy and sell more than 100 homes since 2019, most often in Round Rock, Georgetown, Pflugerville, Hutto and Leander. The 98 client reviews on his profile average 5.0 stars, and most of them are about the agents he leads.
Kasey was born in Bellevue, Washington, and grew up in a homebuilder's family. Their own house was the classic builder's home: always under construction, never quite finished. His father built homes and his uncle was a contractor, and watching them turn plans into houses got him interested in real estate, although it was the business side that pulled him in. The family moved often, and from 7th grade on he started at a new school almost every year. In high school in Warrenton, Virginia, he worked as a butcher's assistant at a deli, then as a construction laborer and office administrator in the family business.
After the Navy, he spent most of a year as an unpaid intern with top producers Sandy and Deirdre Bramberg at Keller Williams Realty in La Mesa, California. He went on listing appointments, showed homes and made cold calls to be sure real estate was really the career for him. It was. He researched markets across the country and picked Austin. In 2010 he bought his first home, started his business and went to college full time, all in the same year. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in May 2013 and hired his first partner that same month: Justin Bowman, who is still with JRE today.
At Keller Williams in Round Rock, Kasey built the Jorgenson Group around one idea: be a customer service company that happens to sell real estate. The philosophy was simple then and still is: have fun, work hard, and take care of our agents and clients. He invested early in training, systems and technology, and in 2020 Keller Williams Round Rock named him its Director of Growth and Innovation. The team expanded into southwest Austin in 2019 and to Georgetown and Jacksonville, Florida, in 2021.
Along the way, the Jorgenson Group was named to RealTrends' "America's Best Real Estate Professionals" every year from 2018 to 2023, ranked No. 2 on the Austin Business Journal's list of top teams in its category from 2020 to 2023, and was named one of the Journal's Best Places to Work in 2021. Keller Williams inducted the team into its Hall of Fame and gave it the Eagle Award. In December 2025, Kasey launched Jorgenson Real Estate as an independent brokerage (TREC firm license #9004354), the next step toward a goal he has held for years: a core group of companies run by people doing exactly what they're meant to do, serving clients with excellence, having a ton of fun together and building something that lasts for their families.
Kasey's mission is to be surrounded by people who are doing exactly what they're meant to do, and so wildly successful that everyone is happy and fulfilled. He calls his style a "players' coach," a term he borrows from football: someone who gets in the trenches with his team and leads by example. He's a longtime student of great coaches and leaders, from Bill Walsh and Pete Carroll to John Maxwell and Simon Sinek, and he often quotes Carroll: "Sometimes they just need a little nudge, a little direction, a little support, a little coaching, and the greatest things can happen." He also borrows a line from Richard Branson: "Train people well enough so they can leave, treat them well enough so they don't want to."
Today he spends most of his time coaching agents, building systems and training, and using technology without losing the personal touch. He has taught Texas Real Estate Commission continuing education and led business, wealth-building and mastermind classes for agents. When an agent hits a tricky situation, Kasey is the first call. As the firm has grown, he has moved experienced broker associates into leadership roles so agents get the same steady advice either way. Clients notice. One seller described a team that "coordinated behind the scenes to make everything work like a well-oiled machine."
Kasey hosts Real Estate, Straight Up, the Jorgenson Real Estate podcast about what's actually happening in the Central Texas market. He sits down with JRE agents to talk through how deals are getting done right now: relocating to Austin, using VA loan benefits more than once, the lease terms that surprise small businesses, and whether to rent a home or sell it in a slower market. Every episode has chapters and a full transcript. He is also a public speaker on the Central Texas market and real estate leadership.
Kasey no longer works directly with many clients, but he still takes some, and it shows. A buyer in Georgetown wrote that "Kasey's deep knowledge of the local area and builders was invaluable." He knows the VA loan from the inside, too. He bought his first home with his VA benefit, outgrew it, bought the next one with a VA loan again and kept the first as a rental. He still owns it. That's why he tells veterans they can use the benefit more than once. He holds the Military Relocation Professional (MRP) designation, and our guide for military and veterans is a good place to start.
He is also a Certified Divorce Real Estate Expert (CDRE), trained to help divorcing couples, their attorneys and mediators sell or divide a home with as little friction as possible. Our family law and divorce page explains how JRE handles those sales.
Kasey is a proud dad to his son, Karter, and has coached Karter's football team for the past five seasons, with multiple championship appearances, one title and one runner-up finish. Football runs deep: born just outside Seattle, he's a lifelong Seattle sports fan and a diehard Seahawks fan. He also loves the kind of challenge most people skip. He has finished multiple MS-150 rides from Houston to Austin, the Texas Water Safari (the "world's toughest canoe race") wall to wall in 2019, and the Missouri River 340, the world's longest nonstop canoe race, in 2020. The rest of the time you'll find him on the water boating, fishing or scuba diving, camping, mountain biking, working on a home project or enjoying a really good bourbon.
He was one of the fans who rallied at Austin City Council to bring Austin FC to town, and he has supported local causes including the Round Rock Serving Center, Ronald McDonald House of Central Texas, the YMCA of Central Texas, Disabled American Veterans and Texas Baptist Children's Home, where he has volunteered his time. His French Bulldog mix, Mabel, runs the house.
