Hello from your friendly neighborhood real estate team, the Jorgenson Group! 🍂 If you’re settling into life (or thinking about settling) in Williamson County, you’re probably wondering: “What kind of fun, community, and culture is out there?” Well, October 2025 is shaping up to be a lively month. Grab your calendar, your walking shoes, and maybe a pumpkin spice latte—here’s what’s coming up in Williamson County, Texas (and why you’ll want to be part of it).

🎡 The highlight: Williamson County Fair & Rodeo (Oct 22–25)

This is the big one. The Williamson County Fair & Rodeo returns from October 22 to 25, 2025, promising Texas-sized fun: live music, a carnival, pig races, livestock exhibits, a Junior & UPRA rodeo, and even Mutton Bustin’ for the kids. (They actually let little cowpokes hold on tight to sheep—adorable and nerve-wracking.)wilcofair.com+1

Whether you’re a thrill-ride junkie or someone who just wants a funnel cake and good people watching, this is your must-attend event of the month. (Don’t forget your cowboy hat.) For full schedule and ticket details, check the Fair & Rodeo website.wilcofair.com

👻 Ghost tours, art, and haunted happenings in Georgetown

Georgetown and The Williamson Museum are turning up the seasonal charm with activities that are part spooky, part cultural. Throughout October:

  • Ghosts of the Georgetown Square Ghost Tours: Dedicated walkers can catch costumed docent tours at 7:30 p.m. most nights, where you’ll hear stories of historic hauntings on the square.williamsonmuseum.org

  • “Texas Through Her Lens – Frames of Purpose” art exhibit: running all month long at the museum, showcasing photography from across Texas.williamsonmuseum.org

  • 13th Annual Cattleman’s Ball: on October 16 at Kalahari Resort & Conference Center (Round Rock, TX)—a polished evening affair supporting the museum’s mission.williamsonmuseum.org

If you like wit, whispers, and wandering through historic buildings at night, these are events you’ll want to circle.

🏃‍♂️ Local community events and smaller gems

Williamson County is more than big fairs and ghost hunts—some of the smaller events are just as sweet:

  • Georgetown Pride Festival on October 11: vendors, art, drag shows, and hometown pride.wilcosun.com

  • Salon at Wildfire: Darrell Hunt – From Ready Prompts to Prompting AI: October 8 event in Georgetown, diving into tech, storytelling, and personal journeys.williamsonmuseum.org

These events are perfect for families, first-time residents, or anyone who wants a taste of community without crossing county lines.

📅 Tips for making the most of October in WilCo

  • Buy tickets early: The Fair & Rodeo can sell out, especially for special attractions like Mutton Bustin’.

  • Check times: Some events only run on specific nights (ghost tours at 7:30 p.m., for example).

  • Mix it up: Evening ghost tours + daytime fair + weekend festivals = full experience.

  • Stay local in prep: Visit Georgetown cafés, get coffee in Round Rock, and support vendors at the events.

  • Bring layers: Texas October can swing from crisp mornings to warm afternoons—dress smart.

October 2025 in Williamson County is more than pumpkins and falling leaves—it’s a vibrant mesh of culture, community, and fun. Whether you’re a long-time resident or planning to call WilCo home soon, these events are your ticket to neighborhood connection.
